It retrieves data from a microplate absorbance reader, displays the data, validates the assay, calculates the qualitative results, displays the results, stores sample identifications and results, and generates reports. Report options include a detailed analytical report for internal laboratory use or a client report displaying only the informationrelevant to a particular client. Exporting OD values to Microsoft® Excel® is as easy as clicking your mouse! Currently, ELISAWare™ supports microplate readers from four major manufacturers. It makes it ideal for the ambulatory side of our practice since they do not require refrigeration, use the same reader, and can give you results within 10 minutes. The foal IgG test is great when evaluating newborn foals on the farm as it allows me to determine its IgG status prior to administering any plasma, or in some cases aids in the decision of whether or not to administer the plasma. Having a test I can run stall-side quickly allows me to maximize my time and efficiency and decreases the amount of repeat farm calls if I have to run the bloodwork back at the clinic. I do wish it gave an exact measurement instead of ranges like the SAA test does because the IgG level determines how much plasma is needed to raise it to >800 (e.g. the amount of plasma needed to raise an IgG level of 400 to adequate levels is vastly different than the amount needed to raise an IgG of 799). Overall I would recommend this product, especially for an ambulatory veterinarian, as it allows you to make real time treatment decisions and provide the best possible recommendations to your clients in a quick and timely manner. Dr. Alex Francis Cofield Weatherford Equine Medical Center The SAA and IgG tests are incredibly simple and straightforward to process and use. I think having batch specific calibration cards gives me more confidence in the accuracy of the results. The battery life and compact aspect of the reader makes it very useful to take in the field. C Ryan Penno, DVM The Equine Clinic at OakenCroft I use VMRD SAA and IgG for easy on the farm testing that I can trust. I've used these tests since 2020 across two practices and been happy with the results. They are simple enough for staff to run as well! Lara Stephens-Brown, DVM, CVSMT, FCoAC Northern Lights Veterinary Service I recently had a transfer from a large referral center to my rural clinic for a two-year-old FS DSH with a 9 day history of lethargy, inappetence, and pyrexia. The owner spent $2000+ on diagnostics, but no cause of illness could be identified. I ran a SAA upon arrival, and it was elevated. I discontinued the patients steroids and started IV antibiotics and within 24 hours, the patient was eating. Within three days, her symptoms had resolved. Although I would have loved to know why the cat was sick, we don’t always have that luxury in veterinary medicine. Ultimately, having SAA got this pet to recovery faster and could have even saved her life. Dr. Sarah Calvin Riverview Animal Clinic Angilene Gonzales, LVT and I, Shauna Knapp-Boutros, LVT have been with Waller Equine Hospital for 20 years. With a support staff of over 25, when adding a new diagnostic test or equipment we worry about ease of use, potential for user error, and durability. We have been very happy with VMRD's SAA lateral flow reader and test kit. It is easy to use, durable and reliable. Not to mention, a great diagnostic tool and something we are so happy we have incorporated into our workups. We highly recommend the product! Shauna Knapp-Boutros Waller Equine Hospital I found the sampling to be simple and straightforward, the kit was easy to use. I think the calibration card is a great advantage and it's great that it saves the last result. Dr. Kelly Sears Assistant Professor @ Oregon State University, Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine So easy, even the Dr. can run it. It's been super easy to use, and I've actually used it on a lot more cases than I thought I would. Dr. Ali Sandiford Silver Creek Animal Clinic To me, it seems stupid simple since it's so portable to carry on the truck and I just pull sample and use. I appreciate it saves the last result. Dr. Dora Ferris Summit Equine I love them! It's very user-friendly and easy; easier than other SAA kits. I love the size.
