Use this accessory when you want to run the Equine Serum Amyloid A (SAA) test on serum or plasma samples rather than whole blood. Each pack contains 15 capillary sampling devices and matching dilution tubes to properly dilute serum or plasma prior to testing. These devices replace the whole-blood sampling devices that come with the LFD-SAA kit; they do not include any lateral-flow test cartridges or a VMRD Reader. You must have the Equine SAA Detection Test (LFD‑SAA) for actual testing.

Use these capillary sampling devices in place of those provided with the Serum Amyloid A (SAA) Test (LFD-SAA).
Early identification of systemic inflammation and infection is challenging, as the clinical signs can be subtle. SAA is an indispensable tool to aid equine veterinarians in this challenge since levels increase with acute inflammation even more rapidly and dramatically than elevations in fibrinogen or WBC count. SAA starts dropping as soon as the disease begins to resolve, allowing objective monitoring of clinical condition and treatment efficacy.
